Five people were injured, in West Monroe, in a two vehicle car crash.

According to Oswego County Sheriff's Deputies, a woman, 21, pulled out of the parking lot on State Route 49 and crashed with a Chevy Malibu. The car then crashed into a building and a kerosene pump at a close by gas station.

Five people were transported to Syracuse hospitals, including two passengers that are 88 and 89-years-old. The injuries were not life threatening.

Police believe driver inattention played a part in the accident. The woman was ticked to for failure to yield the right of way during a left turn. The section of Route 49 affected by the accident was closed down while the hazmat team worked to contain the spill and crews cleaned up the area.
