Syracuse Police Car Involved in Car Crash

Syracuse Police reports a driver who ran a red light, crashed into a city police cruiser. The accident happened on Wednesday just before 5pm at the intersection of Teall Avenue and Erie Blvd.


Joe Cicile, Police spokesperson, says the officer was heading south on Teall Avenue, the driver of the car, Ralph Royson, was heading eastbound. Police say Royson passed through a red light, crashing into Officer Scott Carns' police car. There are damage to both Royson's car and the police cuiser.

Royson was not injured, he was ticked for running a red light. Carns was taken to University Hospital to get checked for neck pain.
