A tragic construction accident has claimed a man's life and has now led to an investigation. Federal officials will determine if the construction site was safe and if all proper regulations were being followed.

Work at the old Webb Building came to a grinding stop after the fatal construction accident. Officials say the worker, of West Seneca, fell approximately thirty feet from the second story to the basement. He was pronounced dead shortly after.

The worker was amongst crews working to transform the old Webb Building into apartments and a day care center. The building is over one hundred years old and needs extensive remodeling and renovations.

City officials say it could be weeks before OSHA completes its investigation and work resumes at the Webb Building.
